Christmas Parties!

Coming up this next week are the Christmas Parties! These always end up being completely goofy, full of laughs, memorable and warm. This year we will have a smorgasbord of ridiculous, Christmas-themed games and mixers all while wearing ugly Christmas sweaters! We will kick off the evening with dinner. We will provide the main dish (pizza) and we ask that students bring items based on their last name (shown below). At the end of the evening we will have a White Elephant Gift Exchange. Basically, this is a random, weird, useless $5 gift. Remember, the weirder the better! Haha!

The High School Christmas Party will be on December 15th, from 6-9pm in the Rafters.
The Middle School Christmas Party will be on December 18th, from 6-9pm in the Rafters.

Messy Jesus

During the month of December, we will be talking through our Christmas Series, “Messy Jesus”. As we take this season to reflect on our Savior’s birth, we felt it would be good to talk about the people Jesus came to save. One theme that continually develops throughout the Gospels is how Jesus came for the broken, sinful and hopeless. We see it painted clearly in Mark 2:15-17: “And as he reclined at table in his house, many tax collectors and sinners were reclining with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. 16 And the scribes of the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with sinners and tax collectors, said to his disciples, “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 17 And when Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Our desire is that our students will take this advent season to celebrate how Christ came to free us from our sin and work through our “messiness”. We hope that they will see how Christ sees them, messy people in need of Him. We also hope they are encouraged, knowing that Christ loves them and is helping them (not condemning) through their sin struggles.
