Hoedown 2016

On Friday, October 28th we will have our annual CSM Hoedown! The Hoedown is a fun and energetic evening complete with dinner, square dancing (called by a professional) and some redneck games! The evening will run from 6-10pm and will be a total blast!

There are a few things we encourage you to bring to the Hoedown. First, bring your non-churched friends. This is a great opportunity for them to get to know other students in the youth group and to go to church. Second, come dressed up in costume. You don’t have to dress country but there will be prizes for creative costumes. We only ask you not to dress in anything super creepy or inappropriate. Lastly, boys bring chili for dinner and girls bring dessert. We look forward to seeing you from 6-10pm on October 28th!

Middle School Mission Trip

Coming up next weekend, May 6-7, is our Middle School Mission Trip! This year we will do service projects in our own backyard. We will have some teaching as well as cultural experiences. I am excited to see how God uses our middle schoolers to care for those in our community! The cost for the trip is $10, which covers food costs. Students can sign up by clicking here. Look forward to serving with you that weekend!

Christmas Parties

It’s December and that means Christmas parties! The Christmas parties are always a wild and fun adventure at CSM. From goofy sweaters to eggnog chugs, the nights are full of laughter and joy! This year we are continuing that tradition. We will have the High School Christmas Party on December 14th from 6-9pm. We will have the Middle School Christmas Party on December 17th from 6-9pm.

We will have drinks and pizza provided for the students. We ask that students bring a couple of things:

  • A White Elephant Gift (something silly under $5 – the weirder the better)
  • Wearing an Ugly Christmas Sweater (Optional: there will be a prize for the ugliest)
  • Last Name A-M: A Dessert
  • Last Name N-Z: An Appetizer

Middle School Mission Trip Reveal

Middle Schoolers! Tonight is the Middle School Mission Trip reveal! At 5:30pm in the Rafters we are sharing the location and details of our summer mission project. Don’t miss out on hearing what God has in store for us this summer!

Also stick around after for our weekly Middle School Evening Worship at 6:30pm!

Relationship Status

Relationships are a vital part of our everyday lives. Without relationships we would be nothing but cheese puff coach potatoes with bloodshot eyes watching our 20th Lord of the Rings marathon. Relationships are challenging, encouraging, fun, trying and even laborious at times. One thing we can all agree on though is that they are necessary and worth the work they take.

This Sunday we are kicking off a new series called “Relationship Status”. We will be spending the month of January looking at a variety of different relationships: our friends, family and online relationships. During the month of February we will dive into what a biblical and Godly dating and marriage life looks like.

We hope that you will be able to take full advantage of discussion during our circle groups on Sunday morning at 11am and hearing from our speakers on Sunday and Wednesday Evenings at 6:30pm.

Photo Scavenger Hunts!

Each month we switch up our regular evening schedule and do something extra fun! This month we are going to be having a Photo Scavenger Hunt! Our students will be tasked with figuring out clues that will have them taking goofy pictures all over the south county area. Each group of students will hop into a car with a responsible parent as they attempt to complete as many clues in the 1.5 hour time limit. There are always a lot of ridiculous poses that must be done so the memories will be sure to last.

The High School Photo Scavenger Hunt will be on September 22nd from 6:00-8:30pm. The Middle School Photo Scavenger Hunt will be on September 25th from 6:00-8:30pm. Be sure to invite your friends to be a part of the fun. Don’t forget to bring your best facial expressions and poses!

Summer Reading Plan

This Summer we want to make a big emphasis on getting deep into God’s word. I know that for many of us, we look at the Bible and think, “where do I begin?” So to help, I have created a reading plan for the Summer. The passages will make a heavy emphasis on God’s redemptive plan for mankind. As you go along feel free to cross off the days as you finish. I know that for many of you, you may miss a day, so I gave you a free day to catch up when you get behind. You can download the reading plan by clicking here.
